Hakata-ori Textiles - Jihei Exhibition

Hakata-ori Textiles Jihei are notable for creating works that are original and yet still preserve the traditional artistry behind this school of textiles. The character 寿 ("long life") is woven into the fabric in the Olympic colors to create a new kind of "celebratory message" obi belt that conveys a spirited mood to the world. There will be a popular choice contest in the exhibition, with a "Hakata-ori official approval" process parents and children can enjoy as well as small woven gifts for everyone who participates.
