Koishiwara Ware Traditional Master Artist Pottery Exhibition
This year, 5 new Koishiwara ware potters were accredited as traditional master artists. This exhibition presents a selection of works rendered in a variety of styles. Koishiwara ware, popular for everyday tableware, is characterized by special decorative techniques including tobikanna (chatter marking), hakeme (brush marking), kushime (comb patterns), and nagashikake (glaze pouring at regular intervals), as well as simple and warm textures. We hope you take this chance to stop by and marvel at a new series of works that reflect the skills of 15 experienced potters.
