Exhibition to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Ichinoseyaki Potter Takumi Maruta
At Ichinoseyaki Marutagama, we use “Enyu,” an uncommon pottery technique handed down over generations that uses salt as a glaze. Salt is added into the kiln during firing, causing a chemical reaction that changes the salt into a glass-like glaze, resulting in pottery with a distinctive luster. You will find a range of ceramic works on display and sale in this commemorative exhibition, such as jars, flower vases and tableware.
