Karatsu Ware Koken Kiln – Exhibition of Works by Kenji Koga

Karatsu ware is said to have been started by potters from the Korean peninsula who arrived in Japan in the 16th century. While this style of pottery is widely known for outstanding tea ceremony bowls, Koken Kiln also makes a variety of other items for daily use, such as plates, coffee cups, and decorative objects and chopstick rests with fish motifs.
